CPA Herbert Chiveli Wasike (ICPAK No. 2964) is a long-standing member of the Institute of
Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree
from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), Certified Public
Accountant of Uganda (ICPAU), and Certified Public Accountant of Rwanda (ICPAR).

Herbert has over 28 years’ experience in consultancy, audit and accounting gained at Ernst &
Young LLP (EY), where he worked up to the rank of Partner. As Partner at EY, Herbert held
several country and regional roles over the years, including Eastern Africa Chief Operating
Officer, Head of Assurance Services, Quality and Risk Management Leader including
Independence, and head of EY Private Client Service across Eastern Africa.

He has wide experience in external audit matters. During his time at EY, Herbert led the
audits of many listed and non-listed companies, Public and Private Sector companies, and
Not- for-Profit Organisations, in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan and Ethiopia and
across many sectors including Financial Services, Aviation, Telecommunication, Hospitality,
and Manufacturing.

He also played many other roles including participation in privatisation exercises in the
region, project management and special audits. At Manager level, Herbert supervised the
execution of numerous audit and non-audit assignments in Kenya and Rwanda and travelled
across the globe as the EY Africa representative to the Global Independence Compliance
Team.

Herbert has extensive training experience and has conducted training programs on
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Standards on Auditing (ISA),
Audit Quality, Risk Management and Independence.
