CPA Herbert Chiveli Wasike (ICPAK No. 2964) is a long-standing member of the Institute of
\nCertified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree
\nfrom the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), Certified Public
\nAccountant of Uganda (ICPAU), and Certified Public Accountant of Rwanda (ICPAR).<\/p>\n
Herbert has over 28 years\u2019 experience in consultancy, audit and accounting gained at Ernst &
\nYoung LLP (EY), where he worked up to the rank of Partner. As Partner at EY, Herbert held
\nseveral country and regional roles over the years, including Eastern Africa Chief Operating
\nOfficer, Head of Assurance Services, Quality and Risk Management Leader including
\nIndependence, and head of EY Private Client Service across Eastern Africa.<\/p>\n
He has wide experience in external audit matters. During his time at EY, Herbert led the
\naudits of many listed and non-listed companies, Public and Private Sector companies, and
\nNot- for-Profit Organisations, in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan and Ethiopia and
\nacross many sectors including Financial Services, Aviation, Telecommunication, Hospitality,
\nand Manufacturing.<\/p>\n
He also played many other roles including participation in privatisation exercises in the
\nregion, project management and special audits. At Manager level, Herbert supervised the
\nexecution of numerous audit and non-audit assignments in Kenya and Rwanda and travelled
\nacross the globe as the EY Africa representative to the Global Independence Compliance
\nTeam.<\/p>\n
Herbert has extensive training experience and has conducted training programs on
\nInternational Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Standards on Auditing (ISA),
